Tour Itinerary

Day 1-6

Day 1

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia You will land in Mongolia. At the airport you will meet with your translator and go to the city center. if you land in Mongolia early you can have city tour on this day. First you can drop your luggage at your hotel then you will have a city tour.

 City tour: The National History Museum, the Chinggis Khaan Square, and the lunch or dinner together.  Then we can have some shopping. After we will bring you to your hotel and then see you tomorrow!

Day 2

Ulaanbaatar Kharakorum (380km)

This morning, our driver and guide will be ready at your hotel. We will load up the car and go to the Mongolian countryside and discover nature! On the way, we will stop at a big supermarket. Here you can everything that you need for the days to come.  Then you will travel to Mongolia's oldest capital city, Kharakorum.

Хархорум, Kharkhorum- was the capital of the Mongol Empire during the Chinggis Khaan. The first time under the decree of Chinggis Khan, Karakorum became the capital of Mongolia in 1220. His son Uguudei continued the construction of the capital and the era of Munkh Khan, the capital was a trading center. The Silk Road passed through the Karakorum. Unfortunately, the ancient capital of Genghis Khan had been destroyed by the military Min of China. We only have vestiges of our day.

Visit of Erdene-Zuu Monastery- It is one of the largest monasteries of Mongolia and built by Avtai Sain Khan in 1586. It is located in the Karakorum and is surrounded by 108 stupas of the Buddhist religion.

When you come to this city, first you will see the historical museum, then you will go to the Erdenezuu Monastery. In this city you will know everything about Mongolian history and about Chinggis Khaan.

From there we will drive to the tourist camp for the night.

Day 3

Kharakorum - Nomad family (220km)

In the morning after breakfast, you will go to the Arkhangai region to our nomad family who herds animals around CHULUUT Canyon. From this family you will start your horse riding to Canyon, Valley, and Volcano. On the way, you will pass Hotont village, Tsetserleg city, and Tamir village. When you come to Tsetserleg city you will visit a local museum of this region.

This is one of the best local museums in Mongolia, not least because it is housed in the charming courtyard-temple complex of Zayain Gegeenii Süm, which was first built in 1586 but expanded in 1679, when it housed five temples and up to 1000 monks. Miraculously, the monastery escaped the Stalinist purges because it was made into a museum. The main hall concentrates on the traditional Mongolian lifestyle, with exhibits of costumes, traditional tools, a Ger, musical instruments, weaponry, and saddles.

 In Tsetserleg city you have your lunch at a local restaurant or from your team /cook/. After lunch, you will cross the Chuluut river by bridge and stop at the Chuluut canyon. Here you can see deep of the canyon and you can take photos.

CHULUUT canyon and CHULUUT river

Chuluut River- (Mongolian: Чулуут гол, stony river) is a river flowing through the valleys of the Khangai Mountains in central Mongolia, and a tributary of the Ider River. It is 415 km long, the width at the mouth into the Ider river is 80 m, the maximum depth is 3 m.

CHULUUT CANYON is a /HAWTSAL/  25-50 meters deep and very beautiful to hike and take photos here.  Chuluut River flows through the wide rocky canyon that was made up of basalt from the lava of extinct volcanoes including Horgo volcano. It provides perfect streams for white water rafting. You can see fish in the river from the top of the canyon. After visiting the canyon you will come to our nomad family to discover the nomad life.

Day 4

Nomad family - Two rivers (20-25km)

Early in the morning, you can help the family to herd animals and meet with your horses. Today you will start your horse riding. On the first day, you will follow the big valley and go to the meeting of two big rivers, CHULUUT and SUMAN rivers. The Chuluut river is from the CHULUUT canyon and the Suman river is from the Terhiin tsagaan lake. In the next days, we will go to that Terhiin tsagaan lake. After you had breakfast, you can prepare everything for your riding; clothes, saddles, etc... When you start your riding your guide and horseman they will give you advice about riding; how to control your horse etc... on the way, in the middle of the valley you will have lunch. Your group will choose a good place for lunch and relax. Your group will be accompanied by cars carrying your gear and food. Most of the time you will see the cars, though sometimes they will leave you to meet you later.

After lunch, you will continue riding and your team will go to the meeting of two big rivers, and follow the canyon. And on the way, you will see very old rock painting from the stone age. /3000 years/ Before dinner you will come to the two rivers. Here you can see canyons and the meeting of two rivers and where you will camp. This is a very good spot for fishing and photographs. You will make a campfire for the night!

Before dinner, you will set up your tent and help your team prepare the camp. While you are helping your horseman and group, your dinner will be ready, prepared by your team.

Day 5

Two rivers - Bomboo tsohio (25-27km)

This is the second day of riding you can a rest bit in the morning. After the long drive and first riding, you will be tired. Your team will prepare breakfast and prepare the horses for the day's riding. If you don't want to sleep for a long, you can get up early in the morning and help your group, care for the horses and cooking, etc... also if you want, you can walk around the canyon and to the rivers. After breakfast, you will start the day's ride. You will ride to the mountains and see small caves. But, first you will be on the steppe. After the steppe you will go to the mountains. Lunch will be next to the mountain. After lunch, you will go up to the mountain. At the top, there is a very interesting rock with a hole. This rock is very big and the hole looks like a wheel. This place is called Senjit Tsohio.

After that rock you will ride around the mountain area, cross the mountains and go to caves. Around caves next to the river, you will have camping with a campfire. Before dinner, you can set up your tent and help your team. While you are helping your horseman and to the group, your dinner will be prepared by your team.

Day 6

Bomboo tsohio - Booroljuut (20-25km)

This morning, you can get up early and hike around to the mountain if you want, or you can rest a bit, then you can help the horseman like other days. After breakfast, you will start riding between big mountains following the valley. Some places are rocky, but some places are so flat you can canter with your group! On the way, you will have your lunch, next to the canyon.  After lunch, you will continue your riding to your next campsite. Here you can make a campfire and hike around beautiful spring and river.

Day 7-13

Day 7

Booroljuut - Suman river (20-25km)

After breakfast, you will ride deep into the mountains to see the Eye lake of the mountain. Between hills and mountains by the forest, you will go to that small lake located next to the top of the mountain. This lake is called Eye Lake of Treasure. Here you can hike around the mountain and lake. It is a very beautiful spot to take a picture. Later you will ride to top of the next mountain. From here you can see all of valley. Everything will be in view; a beautiful place to take pictures and rest a bit. You will ride down the mountain to your next campsite by the Suman River.  The Suman river (Mongolian: Суман гол) springs from the Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur and is a tributary of the Chuluut River. The length is about 50 km.

We are getting close to volcano Horgo. The car will meet us along the way with our food and gear.

Day 8

Suman river - Terhiin tsagaan nuur (20-25km)

This morning, you will start your riding the same as previous days. The first stop is the Horgo volcano. This is one of the best places to visit in Arkhangai. Next to the volcano you will leave your horses and hike to top with your guide. From the top, you will see lava lines, larch forests, and the biggest lake in this area. It is called Terh White Lake. Around the lake, you will have your next campsite. The car will meet you at lunch on the way. After lunch, we will go to our next camping spot.

Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake (Mongolian: Тэрхийн Цагаан нуур-Terhiin Cagaan nuur) also known as White Lake is a lake in the Khangai Mountains in central Mongolia. The Khorgo volcano is located near the eastern end of the lake and the Suman River springs from the lake. this lake is around 16 km length 4-10 km wide and 20-25m deep. the biggest lake in the Arkhangai region.

Day 9

Terhiin tsagaan nuur - Bosgin togoo (25km)

In the morning if you get up early you can hike around the lake and take photographs. Then we go riding to our next campsite. On this day you will follow the valley and mountain, then we cross the Suman river by bridge. After the bridge, you will pass a local small town. This is village Tariat. Next to the Suman river, you will have your lunch. After lunch, you will ride to the next camping spot to the Bosgo volcano. This is the same age as the Horgo volcano from the same period. (8000 years) It is covered by larch forest, one of the best places to camp on your trip!

Day 10

Bosgin togoo - Nomad family (23-25kkm)

This is the last day of your riding in this area. After breakfast, you will start riding to our nomad family. You will come to the same nomads you have met before. You will ride next to the mountain and follow the valley. After lunch you will come to the family and take a rest, play with kids and care for your horses. From this family, we will have dinner. It is a Mongolian traditional barbecue that will be prepared for you by the family!

Day 11

Nomad family - Tsenkher hot spring (180km)

After breakfast, you will say goodbye and thank you to your horseman and family.  Today we will drive to Tsenher Hot Spring. This is a very nice place to take a rest after that long riding. On the way, we will visit the Tsetserleg city and stop for some shopping and lunch. Next to the hot spring, you will stay at the tourist camp for one night.

There natural hot water flows all year long at 1860 meters (1.16 mile) above the sea level and its water is not mixed with soil waters because it is hot. Also, the spring is kept in high pressure under the ground flow rate is high, 10 liters per second. This natural bounty is located 27km south of the town Tsetserleg, and in the center of the Arkhangai province. Tsenkher hot springs have healing properties notably on articular diseases and nervous system’s diseases. Composition: sodium carbonate, hydrocarbon, sulfate, fluorite, hydrogen sulfide. In a pleasant verdant wooded area, some yurts camps with equipment and baths with less hot temperatures have been set up for the travelers. There are several tourist camps that offer tourists indoor and outdoor baths. They transfer the hot water via tubes to pools. Curative water and amazing nature featured by wooded mountains make this an excellent place to relax. A night bath is great. Sitting in the pool drinking while seeing stars at the dark sky is one of the favorite activities here.

Day 12

Tsenkher hot spring - Ulaanbaatar (500km)

After breakfast, you will drive to Ulaanbaatar. On the way, you will stop a local restaurant for lunch and you will see camels at Elsen Tasarhai sand dunes. Here you can take a photo and this is a nice place for a break. here are some people rent camels for tourists. if you want you can ride a camel. then you will drive to the next place.

The Elsen Tasarkhai is a part of the Mongol Els Sand Dunes, that continues 80 km long 5 km wide. The nature in this area is really spectacular and great for relaxing and located in Burd soum in Uvurkhangai Aimag (Province) 280 km west of Ulaanbaatar. The area is surrounded by sand dunes, hills covered with rare bushes and a small forest near a river.

In Ulaanbaatar city, you can visit some department stores and at 6 pm you will watch Mongolian traditional dancing and singing concert. After the concert, your driver and your team will bring you to your hotel. Then you can say thank you and goodbye to your team.

Day 13

This day is your last day in Mongolia. Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport. Also, the transfer can be organized at the time you want, according to the schedule of your flight. Thank you for you traveled with us.
